George MacKenzie
Partner
Marketing Manager, Instructor

George MacKenzie is a founding partner in Belisana Springs Integrative Therapy. He graduated from Dalhousie University with an undergraduate degree in Theatre and went on to earn an advanced diploma in Public Relations from Nova Scotia Community College. After working as both a professional actor and PR consultant, George broadened his experience by becoming a personal care assistant. He currently teaches introductory and intermediate meditation at Belisana. George began meditating in Theatre school, learning visualization, guided imagery, breath and relaxation techniques. Through self-directed study, he has expanded his training to include techniques from around the world. His approach to meditation grows from an understanding that any activity which calms the mind, replenishes the spirit and brings about inner harmony is a form of meditation. From this standpoint he tries to demystify the art so that its benefits are more accessible. His approach is to go from the general to the specific, providing guidance along the way in order to ensure a proper transfer of skill. George is a Reiki Master and has his first level of Acupressure certification.
